Everything you need to know
Rugby started in Nyon in 1972 and has teams in the national senior and junior leagues. In 2008 several veterans felt that there was room for a fun touch evening and from April 2008 Wednesday evenings were set aside for social touch rugby. This soon developed with up to 30 people playing each Wednesday. Many veterans also wanted to start contact rugby and from January 2011 the KromaNyon team was formed.
Touch rugby is played every Wednesday from 19:00 and for those wishing for contact rugby training and matches are also organised. The KromaNyon also organise other social events such as snow raquettes and rugby tours. We use the excellent facilities at Colovray which include grass and sythetique pitches, a muscle room and bar restaurant.
Nyon Rugby club is well situated between Geneva and Lausanne and plays at the Colovray Sports Centre on the lakeside of Nyon. This is 20 minites by car from Geneva and Lausanne (see map below)
The mandatory membership for the KromaNyon is Sfr250 for the rugby season Sep-Jun and will help to cover various expenses and for the use of the facilities. A 'social club' yearly fee of Sfr50 will be asked to those who don’t/can’t play. (see bank details below)
